Icons Remastered: London Concours Celebrates the Art of Reimagining Automotive Legends
London Concours 2026 will bring together a compelling collection of reinterpreted automotive icons as the ‘Icons Remastered’ class, presented by AirX, takes its place in the grounds of the HAC this June.
The class is dedicated to cars that defined their respective eras and have since been meticulously re-engineered and refined for the modern age. These are not restorations, nor replicas. They are considered reimaginings, each one the result of significant craft and a deep respect for the original.
Among the confirmed entries is the Wood and Pickett Mini by CALLUM, a collaboration between two names with strong roots in British bespoke automotive culture. Built on a restored Mk5 shell, it combines the design sensibility of Ian Callum CBE’s Warwick-based house with the interior craft that made Wood and Pickett famous in the 1960s and 70s.
The result is a classic Mini that feels thoroughly considered for contemporary life, with upgraded mechanicals, a rebuilt 1310cc engine, and a refined cabin finished in Bridge of Weir leather.
Alongside it, a 2015 Singer Vehicle Design Porsche 911 represents perhaps the most celebrated name in the remastered car world. Singer’s meticulous approach to reimagining the air-cooled 911 has earned widespread admiration, and this example is a fine illustration of what the genre can achieve.
Similarly, the Gunther Werks Porsche 993 offers another perspective on the air- cooled Porsche; where Singer draws on the 964, Gunther Werks works with the 993 generation, applying modern engineering to one of the most beloved 911 variants.
Completing the line-up are an Audi Quattro SWB, the shorter-wheelbase evolution of one of rallying’s great icons, and an Alfa Romeo R33 Stradale, a car that needs little introduction, its name alone enough to command attention.
Together, the class presents a thoughtful and varied survey of what it means to take a great car and make it better, without losing sight of what made it special in the first place.
