Lamborghini Sián Prototype 1 Confirmed for Hypercars Class at London Concours 2026

2019 Lamborghini Sian Rusu 1

London Concours 2026 will showcase a remarkable chapter in Lamborghini’s technological evolution as Prototype 1 of the Lamborghini Sián joins the Hypercars class, presented by Apollo Capital.

Being displayed on the lawns of the Honourable Artillery Company from 9–11 June, the seminal machine represents the very beginning of Lamborghini’s transition into hybrid performance technology. Guests will be offered a unique insight into the development process behind one of the marque’s most significant modern models.

Built as part of the original Sián ‘FKP 37 programme’, Prototype 1 was the first dedicated Sián development car constructed by Automobili Lamborghini and was used extensively by the company’s research and development department during the validation of its first hybrid powertrain. Over an extended development period, the car accumulated significant testing mileage and played a crucial role in refining the integration of Lamborghini’s pioneering hybrid system before production commenced.

While several development vehicles were created during the Sián programme, Prototype 1 is understood to be the sole surviving example from the original testing phase, making it a uniquely important piece of Lamborghini history. Unlike the production Sián models, which were built in extremely limited numbers for customers, this car represents the engineering and experimentation stage that preceded them.

The Sián itself marked a landmark moment for the Italian manufacturer, combining the naturally aspirated V12 architecture for which Lamborghini is famed with hybrid assistance technology for the very first time. Prototype 1 stands as a physical representation of the moment where Lamborghini’s traditional performance philosophy converged with a new era of electrified engineering.

Andrew Evans, Managing Director of Thorough Events said: “The Hypercars class is all about showcasing the most important and technologically significant performance cars of the modern era, so the Lamborghini Sián is a perfect fit. It represents a pivotal moment in Lamborghini’s history, and it is a pleasure to have such an extraordinary machine as part of our 2026 Hypercars class in partnership with Apollo Capital.”
