Thorough Events and Goodwood Road Racing Club team up

Thorough Events, the renowned curator of world-class concours and collector car events, is delighted to announce an exciting collaboration with the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC). Comprising some of Goodwood’s most enthusiastic supporters, the GRRC will curate a special collection of Mercedes-Benz SL models for the London Concours, the UK’s foremost automotive garden party in the city, held at The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC).

Entitled the ‘Mercedes-Benz SL Showcase’, the collection of the rarest and most spectacular SL examples promises to be a highlight of London Concours. From the legendary 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ – celebrated for its distinctive doors and pioneering performance – to the timeless elegance of the Pagoda SL and the modern sophistication of the R129 and R230 models, this curated display will celebrate 70 years of this automotive icon.
In addition, the Goodwood Road Racing Club will also have a presence at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace in September, with benefits extended to GRRC members and a curated display from the Club on the opening day.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the historic Hampton Court Palace gardens, Concours of Elegance brings together the finest automobiles from around the globe, each chosen for their significance, design, and provenance. The 14th edition of the event will once again present a jaw-dropping display of automotive wonders: from one-off pre-war specials and 1960s motorsport legends, to seminal prototypes and limited-run hypercars.
James Brooks-Ward, CEO of Thorough Events, commented: “We are thrilled to be working in collaboration with the Goodwood Road Racing Club for London Concours and Concours of Elegance. The GRRC’s commitment to celebrating automotive excellence perfectly aligns with our vision of curating world-class collector car events that honour the art of motoring. Working together, we can offer our guests an even more enriching experience, blending our shared passion for automotive history with exclusive insights and storytelling.”
Joshua Parsons, Goodwood Road Racing Club Manager, Goodwood, added: “We know that the Thorough Events’ concours are already a fixture in the calendars of many of our members and I’m delighted that this collaboration will provide them with a range of additional event benefits that further strengthens the Club’s offering. Curating the Mercedes SL class at London Concours and an as-yet unannounced feature at Concours of Elegance, is the perfect way to showcase what the GRRC is all about. We’re looking forward to working with Thorough Events to deliver excellent event content, whilst raising awareness of the Club.”
